Our approach to both baking and our business is simple; we bake delicious traybakes, cakes and muffins, using the highest quality ingredients and believe that warm and friendly relationships with our customers are vital to the success of our business.

Graham's Background & Vision

Sugar & Spice is headed up by Graham Birks, who founded the business nearly 30 years ago and remains “as excited about developing Sugar & Spice today as I did all those years ago.”
Graham’s passion for baking initially led him to a career in the world of Patisserie, working for Michelin Star restaurants. He then established Sugar & Spice in 1987 at The Old Bakehouse on the Lockinge Estate, Ardington in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.

The Team

Our team at The Old Bakehouse is an integral part of the success of our business - they are just as important as the ingredients we source and the recipes we develop. By treating each other with respect and ensuring excellent communication, we have a healthy, happy environment to work in. Although to be fair, it’s easy to be happy surrounded by cake every day!
